Sula Mazimba, MD, has over 20 years of clinical experience in treating advanced heart failure and heart transplantation. He received a Master of Public Health, Global Health and Health Management at Wright State University, Boonshoft School of Medicine, Dayton,Ohio. He graduated from the University of Zambia School of Medicine, Kalundu, Lusaka, Zambia, with an MBChB in Medicine. He went on to complete two fellowships, one in Advanced Heart Failure, Heart Transplant and Pulmonary Vascular Disease from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama, and the other in Cardiology, from Kettering Medical Center, Dayton VA Medical Center, in Kettering, Ohio. Dr. Mazimba completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Kettering Medical Center, Wright State University, Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Mazimba served as an associate professor of medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia, where he also served as an attending physician. He served the university as the director of the cardiogenic shock program and as the lead cardiologist of the pulmonary embolism response team. He received numerous honors and awards, including the University of Virginia’s Department of Medicine Employee of the Year. Additionally, he is the author of several publications, abstracts, and presentations.
